The latest update!

Pree-vyet!
Hello to all,
Just wanted to update everyone on our progress. Our director Karen called us on Friday night with GREAT news....
We have been assigned a region: PETROPAVLOVSK
Just 60km from the Russian border, Petropavlosk is as much a part of Siberia as of Kazakhstan.
A lot of other families from our adoption agency have also been assigned there too. They all have come home with beautiful healthy children!
Our new time line is: 6-8 weeks before we travel so.............. this is great opportunity for me to continue with my learning of Russian!
We have also been told there is a little one waiting for us ...so time will tell. Nothing set in stone.
Dave and I have invited a Nantucketer over who is from Kazakhstan and his home town is Petro.
over to learn more about this city and country .
Should be a nice time and very interesting as well.
I will continue to keep you all up dated.
All the best from Nantucket.

Happy New Year to all!
Pree-vyet (Hello)
Now that it's 2009...a new year...new beginning for us as parents to-be. We are very excited about our up coming journey to Kazakhstan! We are still in the "WAITING" phase of the adoption process. Now that ALL the holidays have passed us by here and in Kazakhstan ,we should be hearing very soon about our next step. No news is good news! Dave and I have been busy with island life.....I am still trying to learn a few words in Russian, organizing the house, rearranging the baby's room and of course working a little too. Dave has been busy with frozen pipes and other plumbing matters with his business. We have some snow on the island as I write this...about 5 inches of fluffy white stuff. How magical and beautiful the snow can be when you you are not doing anything. Please keep posted as we will know some news some time very soon.
